2022 . 11 . 5 Sanding Mountain
Due to studying pressure, I was stressed out recently. I was anxious about my grades although I had prepared for tests in normal times. This week I decided to go hiking to relax. Sanding Mountain was located on the outskirts of Taichung City, and it took only 20 minutes to drive to the destination. On the driving way, I learned the fact from my father that I had been here when I was a child, but I was not physically strong at the time, so I only climbed halfway and then walked back.
The highest altitude of Sanding Mountain was only 484 meters, but there were trees along the way for shade, so I did not feel sultry. When I arrived at the first gazebo, the beautiful lake evoked memories of my childhood. In my memory, I looked at the lake and shouted excitedly. The beautiful lake attracted my attention, and I completely forgot the tiredness of climbing the mountain. Now, when I saw this beautiful lake again, my mind is mixed feelings about it because there were still three exams next week. After resting for a while, the next step was to challenge a steep slope with a slope of nearly 60 degrees. For me, the more challenging it was, the more motivated I was. There were two paths in the steep slope: one was a cement road and the other was a ladder. At this time, I, who had always hated climbing stairs, suddenly felt that the stairs were really awesome! However, after walking the stairs for a while, I switched to the concrete road, because maybe this was my last time to climb Sanding Mountain. Fortunately, this heroic slope was not as long as I imagined, and I soon rest on a platform. Looking at the steep slope under my feet, I suddenly felt that I was proud of myself.
After reaching the top of the mountain, I found that a large group of mountain hikers had gathered on the mountain. We found a place to rest, brewed coffee and ate snacks. Sitting on a chair with the cool breeze blowing, I thought this was the meaning of life! Even noisy with voices around me, my state of mind was extremely calm, as if time froze in an instant. There was a Chinese saying“Enjoy a moment of peace and escape from daily chaos”, which fit me right now. when headind back down, I saw a golden retriever resting that gazebo. The owner of the dog told my sister and I that its name was Muta, and its personality was mild enough for others to touch. When I touched its soft fur, I felt so relieved. This was the first time I touched a golden retriever. Whenever I saw golden retrievers on the road before, I would look at them until they were out my sight. My dream came true this time. Later, the dog owner took out the dog food and said that we can feed it, and it will follow the instructions to eat. But when I finished feeding it, it was really tired because this was its first time to climb a mountain. Muta was a really lovely dog, its friendly character won a good impression for my sister and me.
I thought I should withdraw the foreword that I would not visit here again. Next time, I would climb Sanding Mountain again. I did not need to be too tired; instead. I would just wait for dogs in the pavilion.
